C-Reactive Protein (CRP)

C‑reactive protein is the classic acute phase protein to inflammatory reactions. Most tissue‑damaging processes such as infections, inflammatory diseases and malignant neoplasms are associated with a major acute chase response of the C‑reactive protein (CRP).

The CRP response frequently precedes clinical symptoms, including fever.
